Alan F. Gonzalez is an attorney in the law firm of Walters Levine Klingensmith & Thomison, P.A. where he practices in the areas of estate planning, taxation and probate. PROFESSIONAL ACHIEVEMENTSAlan is a member of the American Bar Association, Florida Bar Association, Hillsborough County Bar Association, Sarasota County Bar Association, and the Academy of Florida Trial Lawyers. He is admitted to practice law before all local and state courts in the State of Florida, the U.S. District Court of Appeal for the Middle District of Florida, U.S. Tax Court, U.S. Court of Claims, and the Fifth and Eleventh U.S. Circuit Courts of Appeal. Alan is a professional lecturer and published author as to topics relating to estate planning and taxation. In addition, he has taught courses in estate planning, contracts, civil procedure, business law, tax accounting, economics and Spanish as an assistant professor and adjunct instructor at various colleges and universities such as the University of Central Florida - Orlando, Rollins College - Winter Park, Hillsborough Community College - Tampa, Alabama Christian College - Birmingham, and Royalton College - South Royalton. EDUCATION AND SCHOLASTICSAlan received his Master of Laws in Taxation degree from the University of Florida - Gainesville in 1978, his Doctor of Jurisprudence degree and Master of Business Administration from Samford University, Cumberland School of Law - Birmingham, Alabama in 1977, and his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of South Florida in 1973. COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENTAlan serves on the board of directors and is legal counsel to Living in Faith, Inc., which is a non-profit corporation that facilitates mission activities in the Caribbean and Central and South American countries, and Creation Truth Foundation of Florida, Inc., a non-profit foundation. He is a member of Van Dyke United Methodist Church and serves as Vice-Chairman of the Staff Parish Committee, has served as Evangelism Committee Chairman and serves in the Ancient Paths Ministry as a seminar facilitator. |
