Stuart Jay Levine is a shareholder in the law firm of Walters Levine Klingensmith & Thomison, P.A. where he practices in the area of business litigation with emphasis in construction and insurance defense litigation. PROFESSIONAL ACHIEVEMENTSStuart has represented individuals and all forms of entities involved in the construction process in drafting documentation, dispute resolution, negotiations, litigation, mediation and arbitration. Specifically, he has represented owners, general contractors, subcontractors and material suppliers on issues relating to construction lien law, payment and performance, mediation, arbitration and litigation matters relating to both public and private projects. Stuart also represents insurance carriers, third party administrators, and self-insureds on insurance claim related matters including premises liability, productional liability, automobile/trucking injury defense. Stuart has been approved by the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation to serve as a speaker for continuing education courses that meet the requirements for all licensed contractors in the State of Florida. He has been admitted to practice law before all local and state courts in the State of Florida and the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida, and the Supreme Court of the United States. Stuart is a member of the Legislative Committee of the Gulf Coast Builders Exchange, the Association of Trial Lawyers of America and the American Bar Association (Construction Division). EDUCATION AND SCHOLASTICSStuart received dual Bachelor of Arts degrees in economics and philosophy from Hofstra University. He received his Juris Doctor degree from Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law, graduating as a member of the Moot Court Board. He was named a Belkin Scholar for outstanding academic service from the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law. COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENTStuart is a past president and current board member of the Police Athletic league of Sarasota County. The League's goal is to assist the underprivileged youth in Sarasota County to become productive members of the community. Stuart is also a Board Member and the Chair of the Public Relations Committee for the Central Sarasota Little League Baseball Association. |
