Michael J. Pugh is an attorney in the law firm of Walters Levine Klingensmith & Thomison, P.A. where he practices in the areas of construction law and business and commercial litigation of business litigation.

PROFESSIONAL ACHIEVEMENTS

Mike is a thirty year litigator admitted before all Florida state courts, the U.S. District Courts for the Northern and Middle Districts of Florida, the U.S. Courts of Appeal for the D.C., 2nd, 9th, 10th and 11th Circuits, and the U.S. Supreme Court. Mike has litigated, appealed, prepared documents and advised clients respecting antitrust, business organization, commercial, construction, contractual (including acquisition, distributorship, licensing and employment contracts), employment and personnel, international trade and trade secret protection matters. Mike has been Associate Director of Continuing Legal Education at FSU College of Law, an instructor at the University of Miami College of Law, an attorney with the Appellate Section, Antitrust Division, of U.S. Department of Justice in Washington, D.C. and clerked for a federal district court judge. He is AV rated by Martindale-Hubbell and has published in The Florida Bar Journal.

EDUCATION AND SCHOLASTICS

Mike received his Bachelor of Arts degree, with honors, from Auburn University in 1968; his Juris Doctor degree, with honors, from the University of Florida in 1972; and a Masters of Laws in 1974 as a Jervey Fellow in Foreign and Comparative Law at Columbia University and the University of Munich then in West Germany. In law school, he held a Law Center Scholarship and was on Law Review, on the Moot Court, in Florida Blue Key, Student Body Secretary for Legal Affairs and Law School Senator.

COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT

Mike has been very active in his community. Among other things, he is in church leadership, past president and chairman of the World Trade Council of Northwest Florida, Inc. (two terms), past president of the Board of Directors of Volunteer Pensacola, Inc., a non-profit agency, and founder and past-president (two terms) of the Navarre, Florida Rotary Club. He is a Rotary International Paul Harris Fellow, past director and recipient of a Distinguished Service Citation. Mike has lectured at World Trade Conferences and been on the board of several public utilities. Mike was involved in Boy Scout leadership, coached T-ball and is a member of MENSA and a Taekwondo Senior Fifth Degree Black Belt and Certified Instructor.
